Walkerton Capitals Novice Rep team was at home this past
Monday to take on the Mount Forest Rams
The Capitals had not faced off against the Rams since their very first exhibition game back in September. Despite Walkerton coming off a 4 game tournament over the weekend, the Capitals players came out flying in all three periods of play.
Ryan Hinperger made some great saves in the first and second periods to keep the Rams off the score board, but they were first to strike in the third with a quick wrist shot from the hash marks.
Walkerton’s forwards kept the pressure on during the whole game and it finally paid off when Cody McIntyre made a perfect pass to Lucas Bester, Lucas didn't waste the opportunity and put home his 4th goal of the season! The game ended in a 1-1 tie with both teams seeing chances in the final minutes of play.
Once again the Capitals are showing they are learning, coming together as a team and stepping up their game every week.
The Capitals are in Mount Forest on December 1, 2013 in a rematch that is sure to be as exciting as this past meeting.
