Good Weekend
The Atom Reps played two games this weekend coming out on top in both games!!
We played BCH and Goderich.
Friday Night saw BCH come to Walkerton for the 4th meeting between the two teams and this was a great game for Walkerton. Overall we played a great defensive game allowing BCH 6 shots all game and Ryan Fotheringham stopped them all for the shutout. This was our best overall game of the season from start to finish. The offence was lead by a Hat Trick from Aiden Hinsperger and and Riley Keip getting the other goal in a 4 to 0 win! Assists went to Cameron Klein (2), Riley Keip, Turner McKenzie, Keaton Eidt and Zach Saunders. Even thought they did not get on the scoreheet, Sky Berfelz, Ryan Fleischauer, Adam Girdler, and Tyler Folmer all played very well in the great team win!
On Saturday afternoon we travelled to Goderich and in a very chippy game with each team getting 12 minutes in penalties Walkerton came out with a 6 to 4 vicotry! After one period Walkerton was up 2 to 0, however in the second period Goderich tied it up with 2 power play goals. In the third we jumped out to a 5 to 2 lead and came away with a 6 to 3 win after a empty net goal. Give Goderich credit they did not give up until the final buzzer. Ryan made some great saves in the net early to keep us in the game!
Scoring goals were Aiden (2), Zach, Riley, Cameron and Tyler
Assists went to Adam, Cameron, Tyler, Sky and Aiden.
As the kids like to joke, Cameron and Tyler had the Gordie Howe hat tricks with a goal, assist and penalty!
For the regular season we are now have a 500 record at 6-6-2 with 2 games left against Saugeen Shores.
