Walkerton sent Goderich Sailors Sailing
Prestige Contracting PeeWee Boys defeat Goderich Sailors in a magnificent game on February 22nd.
The team was on fire in their 5th playoff game with Eddie McKee starting the scoring in the first period. With less than a minute of play Eddie got in the first shot assisted by Connor McTeer and Andrew Young. With under two minutes in the first period Andrew young and Connor McTeer assited McKee again setting him up beautifully for his second goal ending the first period.The team was still on fire in the second with Jacob Weiler getting the third goal with assists from Connor McTeer and Nate Illerbrunn. Soon after Keaton Holm scored the fourth goal of the game assisted by Andrew Young and Steven Ottewell.The team continued with strong momentum into the third as they always do. Eddie McKee was the game superstar and scored his third goal assisted by Keaton Holm and Andrew Young. Congrats Eddie on your hat-trick! Keaton Holm scored a beautiful sixth goal stealing the puck from the Goderich captain when Walkerton was down 2 players. Connor McTeer assisted Keaton Holm along with Steven Ottewell. Our seventh goal at the end of the third was a fast goal by Ryan Lair, assisted by Willie Schmidt and Steven Ottewell. There was outstanding passing by all team players! Matt Markauskas was incredibly confident with gloved hand and quick puck recovery. Curtis Shaidle made some awesome passes and his quick feet kept the puck moving forward. Clint Holliday played his position well and moved the puck between players. Daylan Hopcraft was aggresive on defence and did a great job keeping the puck out of our end.There was also an unbelievable number of continuous assists by Connor McTeer and Andrew Young with four assists each!! Steven Ottewell also shone with 3 assists!Way to go Prestige PeeWee LL2! That was great hockey and a pleasure to watch.
