A Tie for the Walkerton Capital Atom LL 1
Our Walkerton Capital Atom LL 1 team came out fighting tonight against the Hanover Falcons, but the game ended in a tie.

Our Atom team came out strong tonight, with an early goal by Cameron Klein, assisted by Tyson Hinds.  Quite soon afterwards, it was Craig Reaman, with the help of Lucas Fortney, for his first of the night.  Our defence, Alex Kunkel, Tyler Crummer, Tate Elphick, and Fortney held the line like pros, keeping the play deep in the Hanover end.  Reaman scored again before the buzzer, with help from Crummer and Fortney, leaving the end of the first period 3-1 score.

Second period, our forwards turned on the speed, Clint Holliday, Eddie McKee, and Reaman made one line, while Emily Holliday, Hinds and Klein worked hard on the other line.  Hanover came on strong in the second, but were unable to get anything past Ryan Fotheringham, who was solid between the pipes tonight.  Near the end of the second, McKee shot the puck up to an open Reaman, who scored his third of the night.  Second period ended in a 4-1 score.

Third period our fantastic Atom LL 1 were starting to get tired, and Hanover came out strong, despite multiple efforts at the net, we were denied again and again by the Hanover goalie.  At our end, Hanover managed some lucky shots, bringing the game to a 4-4 tie.  Our boys (and girl) fought hard to win the game, but the clock ran out before they had another chance to beat the Hanover goalie.

Great Game Atom LL 1, you played with heart tonight and it showed!

Come see our team play against the other Walkerton team this Saturday, December 15 @ 1020, and Sunday December 16 @ 230 vs Listowel
