Prestige Team Wins Against Walkerton 1
Walkerton Prestige had a hometown victory versing Walkerton 1 on Thursday, January 24. There was lots of crowd involvement as the Prestige boys played well with lots of back and forth plays. Darren Rich was the man of the game scoring the first two goals for Prestige.
Rich's first goal came at 6:36 of the first frame as Thomas Crummer made a nice pass to Rich, who potted it low to the right. The first peiods ended with a one goal lead. Walkerton 1 quickly responded at the top of the second period making it 1-1. Rich's second of the night came minutes later. Jordan Lang started the play in our zone as he rushed up the ice, passed off to Benden Hinds, who backhanded it to Rich. Rich's second goal come at the 13:32 mark of the second making it 2-1 Prestige.
Minutes later, the momentum was still up when Lang scored. Assisting was Brenden Hinds and Denver Turnbull. The boys were passing well and held their own in the corners throughout the entire game. Jared Pletch stopped a two on one breakaway in the second, to keep the score at the end of the second period 3-1 for the Prestige team.
To start the third period, Hinds scored an unassisted goal, to notch his team up 4-1. Late in the third, the oppositon nettted one. The game ended 4-2 for the Walkerton Prestige team. Great effort boys! We look forward to the Hanover tournament this weekend.
