Provinical Playoffs
On Sunday Feb 10, the girls started playoffs for the Provinicals in Ottawa this Year. Their first round was against West Grey/Durham. The first game was Walkerton traveling over to Durham. The games was very aggrestive plays with fast-paced, in the boards digging. Cassidy Becker had some great games with many shots on her. All the girls should be proud of themselves about how they played. Even Durham was saying how this was a very instense series and a good last run for them. They were proud to be put out after the way it went.
The first game was a 1-0 game for Walkerton. With Number 12 Jasmine Thompson getting the only goal of the game in the first period with help from Courtney Wilken. The two lines of Defence had an outstanding game by not letting Durham get to close to Becker at all. The defence were: Courtney Wilken, Erika Spitzig, Dallas Fischer, Hope Diebold.
On Feb. 12, Durham came to Walkerton for the second game of the series. With this game, it was very aggressive game with both teams being in the Penalty box way to much. In the end, this game finished with a 1-0 win to Durham. Leaving the series tied 1-1.
On Feb 15, Walkerton hosted Durham again for the final game. The final score was 3-0 for Walkerton, advancing them to the next round.
