PeeWee Rep Boys Participate in Silver Stick

The Legion PeeWee Boys participated in the Regional Silver Stick tournament in Tiverton on Dec. 28 and 29.  While the boys lost all 3 games, they were very competitive in each of them.

In their first game, the boys played their rivals from Kincardine.  In a hard fought encounter the boys fell 2-1. After a scoreless first period, Broder Currie put the first point on the board for Walkerton.  J.P. Kunkel earned the assist.  Kincardine came back and scored one in the second to make it a tie game.  Kincardine put another one in the net early in the third. Walkerton was not able to get one past their goalie, ending in a 2-1 victory for Kincardine.
Later that day, the boys played Goderich and unfortunately lost a close 3-1 game.  Dakota Weiler opened the scoring at 5:33 in the first period, with Michael McAskill and Tristan Zettel credited with assists.  Goderich responded with 3 unanswered goals, one in each period, to get the win.
In their final game, on Dec.29, the Legion boys played South Huron.  In a fast skating, competitive game, South Huron won 1-0.  The team had a variety of scoring chances but could not beat the South Huron goalie.  Aiden Quish was solid between the pipes to keep his team in the game.
The PeeWee Rep Boys will next play Lucknow in an exhibition game on Wed. Jan. 4 at 7:00 in Lucknow.
