Legion PeeWee Boys Defeat Hanover - Twice
by Andy Cormack

After dropping two games on the weekend of Dec. 3 & 4, to Kincardine and Saugeen Shores, the Legion PeeWee boys rebounded with back-to-back wins over Hanover.

On Tuesday Dec. 6, the team travelled to Hanover and beat the host team 3-1.  After a scoreless first period, the boys took the lead in the second on a beautiful top shelf goal by MacKenzie McTeer.  Tristan Zettel and Dakota Weiler contributed the assists.  Broder Currie made it 2-0 in the third on a goal asisted by McTeer and Jake Spitzig.  After the hometeam made it a 2-1 game, Nicholas Fairminer sealed the victory with a goal fed from Christopher Cormack to Ryan Girdler.

The next night, the two teams travelled to Walkerton and the home boys prevailed again in a close game which ended in a 4-3 score.  The Legion boys took an early 2-0 lead on goals by Girdler (assists to Cormack and Spitzig), and Cormack (assists by Girdler and Fairminer).  Hanover powered their way to a 3-2 lead with three unanswered goals in the secord.  Undeterred, the Walkerton boys responded in the final frame with two goals.  Spitzig scored on a goal assisted by Zettel and Weiler.  Noah Leslie completed the scoring and gave the team a 4-3 lead with a goal assisted by Currie.
