Three Times a Charm!
Walkerton Weber's Electric extended their winning streak defeating the visiting Mount Forest Rams, 5-2. Walkerton was eager for a win over the Rams after losing to Mount Forest 6-3 a week ago in Mount Forest after heading into the third period in a 3-3 tie. Tonight's featured player is Joel Pletch with a goal and an assist.
The first period was scoreless, due to the great goaltending on both ends, and particularly Walkerton's goalie, Trevor Dillon. Walkerton finally got the scoreboard lit up with Pletch's goal assisted by Connor Johnon. Mount Forest replied a minute later to tie the game and then took the lead within minutes. Scott Eddyvean would score an unassisted, shorthanded goal to tie the game again. Drew Cobean gave Walkerton the lead with another unassisted goal and then Jarred Pletch and Cobean combined to give Walkerton a 4-2 lead at the 12 minute mark of the third period. Eddyvean, assisted by Joel Pletch and Georgina McKee provided an additional insurance goal at the 1:18 mark and Walkerton shutdown the Mount Forest offence to skate off with a 5-2 win and their third victory in 5 days.
