Sarnia Home and Away a Success
The Godfather Pizza Lower Lakes Rep Girls pulled off home and away victories against Sarnia this weekend.
The girls travelled to Sarnia on Saturday and played strong. Goals were scored by Konecny, Borho, VanLoon, and McKague. Assists were spread between Meyer, Walsh, Konecny, Thompson, Hickling, and Young, showing this was a true team effort.
Sundays game in Walkerton was strong. The defense played a great game, helping Priestap achieve a shut out once more. Period One gave Walkerton an early lead with a goal from VanLoon, assisted by Hickling and Young. The game remained close but in the third period Walkerton pulled ahead with a goal by McKague, assisted by Holyome and Young. With little time left on the clock, Sarnia pulled their goalie, and Walkerton cinched the win with one more goal scored by VanLoon, assisted by Meyer and Thompson.
Walkerton returns to Sarnia once more on Saturday. Great job Girls! Keep it up!
