Jan 30th WOAA Playdowns vs. Mildmay Loss 9 - 1
Tonight was our 1st game of the WOAA Round Robin Playdowns, and we hosted Mildmay. A few articles earlier I mentioned in a win in Goderich that I thought our boys were bused to a different arena and were replaced by a different team. Well I think the bus arrived home and the boys stumbled out in a drunken stupor after a 4 day road trip, laced up the skates and hit the ice.
Period #1 started and Mildmay took an early lead at around the 14 minute mark while on the PP. Our boys tied it up at the 8 minute mark while on the PP ourselves on a goal by Tyler Goetz with assist to Brayden Davidson and Kyle Paulitzki, and for the rest of the period it looked like we were going to make a game of it. However that was short lived as Mildmay took charge in the second and scored 4 unanswered goals, and then 4 more in the third to complete the butt kicking. On the bright side we did win the penalty game with 4 to their 1.
We have contacted the authorities and they are looking for the team that replaced this one in Goderich last week. Hopefully they will be found in time for Friday's game vs Listowel.
