Jan 29th Game #4 vs. Goderich Win 3 - 2 Clinch Series 5 points to 3
Well this is it.  The final game of the 1st round of the OMHA Playoffs.  The series was tied at 3 points each.  At one end of the ice a strong Goderich Sailors team, finishing the regular season in 3rd place.  On the other end of the ice a team that at the begining of the year more closely resembled the "Bad News Bears" than they did a hockey team and finished dead last in their division.  One last winner take all game to decide who goes on to face the division leading Listowel Cyclones.

At the start of the year if you were to say we would be in a series dieciding game or would be advancing to Round #2 of the OMHA Playoffs they would have locked you up, as clearly your cheese was so far off the cracker there was no hope for you to live in society. I'm here to tell you that they did, and they won!!!!
The game started pretty much as most of our games do, a warm up before the game starts, shaking hands and then puck drop.  Like most games we gave up an early lead, as Goderich scored first with 19 seconds to play in the first period.  In the second the boys netted their first as Tyson MacLellan scored on an assist from Tyler Goetz and Curtis Biesenthal.  Penalties came back to haunt us a little as Goderich took the lead again at the 6 minute mark while on the PP.  The second period ended with our Capitals trailing by one.
All series long our boys owned the 3rd period and today was no different as when the puck dropped we marched down the ice and Tyler Goetz scored one on an assist from Tyson MacLennan to tie the game up at 2.  After 10 more minutes of back and forth play, with many great saves by both the Goderich goalie and our man between the pipes an opportunity arose and Tyson MacLennan netted what turned out to be the game winner once again assisted by Tyler Goetz.  With the goalie pulled Goderich pulled out all the stops but our boys were up to the challenge and held them at bay.

Congratulations boys great series and we are all looking forward to round #2.
