Langs Off to a Good Start!
Lang’s Contracting Midget Girls have started their
season. The girls skated to a scoreless
tie in their first game against Chatsworth.
Bri Dietz played a strong game in net in her debut as a Midget. Emily Daurio, Nelly Spitzig and Niki Lemont,
also, first year midgets, were strong on defence. Hayley Thede, the lone first year forward in
this game, showed great speed and a real skill for digging for the puck.
The team next travelled to Meaford on October 22 and this time the game involved some scoring. Walkerton took an early lead in the first with a goal by Adrianna Droefke, assisted by Lemont. Claire Tomlinson added to Walkerton’s lead in the second with an assist going to Droefke. In the third, Marisa Dales scored and she was assisted by Melissa Girdler. Meaford put the pressure on in the last few minutes but Walkerton managed to hold on for the victory. Charlene Sullivan was called up from Bantam and played a fine game for the Midget team. Other team members who helped with the outcomes of the games are Jessica Westover, Carly Morris, Ashlee Cameron, and Rachel Anstett.
