Pee Wee LL Girls fight hard in Port Elgin December 4th
Walkerton Pee Wee LL girls took the road trip to Port Elgin to fight hard. They may not have won the game, but they played together as a team and fought hard!
Our girls showed up in Port Elgin on a snowy day to play some hockey! Both teams came out strong, and our girls fought the entire game. Port Elgin managed to get the puck in the back of the net twice in the first period, but not without a great fight, and both goals were at the end of the period.
Our girls came back, not discouraged at all in the second, and continued to dig and get ahold of the puck. There was a lot of back and forth action, our forwards, Tori I, Kristen R, Hope D, Hannah K, Lindsay C and Jocelyn F fought hard to take the puck to the net, defenders Georgina M, Karissa S, Paige F and Ashlyn C dug in the corners and lifted sticks out front. Solid between the pipes was our fearless goaltender Cassidy P. Their diligence paid off a few minutes into the second when Georgina M whipped the puck from the blue line, and Kristen R tipped it with her stick, causing it to fly through the air and hit the net top corner. Second period ended in a 4-1 score.
The third period was hard fought, the girls were tired and the game was rough. They managed to keep the score to 5-1, and skated off the ice with thier heads held high. Great game LL girls!
