"The goals that never were", that is how a couple of the boys described today's 4-3 overtime loss against Durham. When it looked like Walkerton had scored a couple of times the faceoff ended up beside the Durham goalie and not at centre ice.
Walkerton held a 3-0 lead but it wasn't enough and the Capitals fell short in the overtime period.
Carter Buehlow put the home team on the scoreboard early in the first period, assisted by Noah Leslie and Hunter Zettler. Austin Kelly added to the lead from Tristan Zettel and Dorian Charette.
Brayden McKenzie completed the scoring for the McIntee Boys, assisted by Zetter and Charette.
Durham fought back from the 3-0 deficit and tied the game with just under 4 minutes to play. Walkerton played hard but just could not find the back of the net.
The Atom Rep boys will look to tie up the home and away series on March 8th in Durham.
Meanwhile they will concentrate on the OMHA semi final playdowns against the Lambeth Lancers. Game times to be announced.
