PeeWee Boys score 14 goals in 2 games
written by Andy Cormack

On a stormy Feb. 28, the PeeWee Legion Rep Boys travelled to Bayfield and defeated the hometown team 7-3.

Jake Spitzig scored a hat-trick while Jordan Dahms and Calvin Wilson scored two.  Credited with assists were Christopher Cormack (3), Bailey Zettler, Kyle Vaughan, Michael McAskill, Curtis Biesenthal, Dahms and Wilson.  It was well worth the drive to get back to our winning ways.
Two days later, on March 2, the boys continued their WOAA playoff play-downs when they met Zurich in Walkerton.  Seven goals were again scored with the final score being 7-4.  Bailey Zettler lead the offensive punch with a hat-trick.  Christopher Cormack contributed with a 4 point game with 2 goals and 2 assists.  Calvin Wilson also scored 2 goals and earned 1 assist.  Also garnishing assists were Michael McAskill (2), Jake Spitzig (2), Jordan Dahms (2), J.P. Kunkel, Kyle Paulitzke and Curtis Biesenthal.  Ryan Bester was solid between the pipes.
The boys utilized good passing through the neutral zone and a strong forecheck to earn the victory.  Hopefully this will continue as they play Shallow Lake on March 7th, Milverton on March 8th, and are in the Young Canada PeeWee tournament beginning on March 11th.  There's still lots of hockey to go!
