One More Win for First OMHA Championship in over a Decade
It wasn't exactly how the coaches envisioned it happening but none the less the guys got the job done!
Again the juvies started a little slow and fell behind 1 - 0 before they started to pick up their play. After two periods Walkerton was down 2 - 1 but was starting to take control of the game. Early in the third the guys got the equalizer only to have New Hamburg bounce back minutes later and take a 3 - 2 lead. The team kept its composure and continued to forecheck and cycle the puck until they got the tying goal and the eventual game winner with less than three minutes to play. New Hamburg pulled their goalie but to no avail as they could not generate any quality scoring chances. After losing the flip the juvies will return to New Hamburg Saturday (19th) @ 8:00 pm looking to finish off their opponent and claim the first OMHA Championship for Walkerton in the past decade.
