Team work! Missing Tristen Flachs due to work commitments, without a healthy Scott Barclay, due to strep throat, and losing Steve Thompson within the first five minutes due to a questionable hit from behind the guys rallied together to show the dedication and 2nd effort necessary to be successful in the playoffs.
Playing against an aggressive Port Perry team in a penalty filled game Walkerton stuck to the game plan and persisted with a 3 - 0 victory. Grant Craddock had a solid game in net turning away a number of good scoring chances from Port Perry. Walkerton's commitment to team defense showed again as they earned their fourth consecutive shut out of the post season. With the win of the flip, Walkerton will now host game two and three this coming weekend on Saturday (12th) at 7:00 pm and again on Sunday (13th) @ 3:30 pm.
