Larsen Girls Busy During The Break
The Larsen Bantam Girls were kept busy during the break.  With all of the hustle and bustle of the season the team managed to squeeze in five hockey games.  The girls had a successful run as they skated away with four wins and a tie.

The girls started off the holidays with a trip to South Huron.  The game was full of end to end action.   The girls had numerous shots on net, but the South Huron goalie kept her team in the game.  Not to be out done, Alyssa Inglis played a solid game between the pipes and made outstanding saves when called upon.  The lone goal of the game occurred in a scramble in front of the net.  Faith Yensen dug out the puck and Emalee Haight tapped it in the net.  Great plays and outstanding defence kept the score at 1-0 for the girls.

Our next opponent was Arron Elderslie.  Both goalies were not in the giving mood early on as there were many shots fired but no goals were being allowed.  Finally, the girls found their scoring touch.  Missy Adams had a great night with four goals and Emalee Haight added two goals.  Assists went to Lauren McLean, Ashton Nixon, Sarah Biesenthal and Jamie Van Loon.  The final score was 6-1 for the girls.

Markdale headed into town for the next game.  The game was full of grit and determination from both teams.  The Larsen girls held their own, not only did they win the game 5-0, but they won many of the battles in the corners as well.  Goal scores for the game were Aston Nixon with two goals, Missy Adams with two goals and Sarah Biesenthal added a single marker.  Helping out in the assist department were, Katrina Young, Emalee Haight and Destiny Berberich.

Next, the girls made the long trip to Beaver Valley for their next victory.  The team dominated the play and eventually skated to a 6-1 win.  It was a great team effort as everyone helped out with the scoring.  Scoring two goals for the game were Katrina Young, Missy Adams and Emalee Haight.  Assists were recorded by Sarah Biesenthal, Faith Yensen, Katrina Wyatt and Jamie Van Loon.

To end the holiday season the girls participated in the Reeves Cup against Mount Forest.  The game had alot of end to end rushes, great shots and excellent saves that kept the crowd entertained.  The final result was a 3-3 tie.  Goals were scored by Jamie Van Loon, Missy Adams and Emalee Haight.  Micaela Stuzki stood solid between the pipes and kept her team in the game.

In all of the games, everyone worked hard, everyone hustled on every shift and everyone contributed to the final result whether they made the score sheet or not. Thanks to the girls who were called up to help out the team with players missing.  Great effort girls and a fantastic start to the new year.
