Larsen Bantam Girls Starting Strong
The Larsen Bantam girls have started off the season with two wins. In both games, the girls have provided alot of offence and great defensive plays not allowing the visiting teams with many scoring opportunities.
The first game against Upper Maitland saw fast skating and crisp passes causing many scoring chances. Everyone on the team made the scoresheet in the scoring department. Goals were scored by Ashton N, Faith Y, Destiny B, Marielle A, Emalee H, and Katrina Y. Assists were recorded by Jamie V, Katrina W and Lauren M. Alyssa I, stood strong between the pipes.
The team continued their drive to the net, during their second game against Beaver Valley. The local girls defeated the visiting team 5-0. The girls had a quick start to the game. Katrina Y scored with only 11 seconds ticked off the clock. The girls continued to work hard all over the ice. There were many scoring chances by the entire team. Goals scorers for the game were Katrina Y,with three, Emalee H, and Faith Y with one each. Assists went to Morally A, and Destiny B. The defence for the team consisting of Jamie V, Lauren M, and Katrina W worked hard in both ends of the rink, making defensive plays and then quickly starting the offence back up. Micaela S, played a solid game in goal against Beaver Valley. Special thanks to Hannah M, and Emily D who helped out the team due to injury and illness. Hannah M chipped in three assists and Emily D supported the defensive core.
