Leo Al's start season
The Leo Al’s Pee Wee girls hockey team has started their season with three tough games. On Oct. 24 Normanby came to Walkerton and beat the home team 7-0. The girls worked hard but could not get any shots past the Normanby goalie.

The girls then travelled to Tiverton and played a very good game, but still came out on the wrong side of a 2-1 game. Scoring for Walkerton was Arianne B. assisted by Kerrigan H.
The third game of the season saw the girls face a tough Meaford team. Despite a great effort, they came out on the wrong side of a 6-1 game. Lilly S. scored the only goal for the Capitals assisted by Alex S.
On November 7 the girls faced the Owen Sound Ice Hawks. The girls found their scoring touch, winning 17-0. Leading the way was Jenah V. with five goals and three assists, Lilly S. scored three goals and two assists, Kerrigan H. with three goals and one assist, Jenna H. with three goals and two assists, Arianne B. with two goals, Michelle B. with one goal, and Brittany D. with an assist.
On November 8 the girls travelled to Kincardine.  Jenah V. opened the scoring, but Kincardine came back with two goals and took the game 2-1.
All these games were just a warm up for their game against Mount Forest. The girls came out flying and Caroline G opened the scoring , assisted by Jenah V. Mount Forest came back with a goal of their own before the end of the first period. Early in the second Jenah V. put the Capitals up again. After some fast back and forth action, Mount Forest scored two quick goals in the last two minutes of the second period. Even though the girls saw their lead disappear, they did not give up. Just over a minute into the third period, Arianne B. tied the game on a breakaway goal, with an assist to Jenah V. Less than 40 seconds later, Arianne found the back of the net again, with assists to Jenna H. and Jenah V. Mount Forest spent the rest of the game shooting on the Capitals goalie, Charlene S. but couldn’t get the equalizer.
It was by far the team’s best game of the season, with everyone contributing to the win. The most important contributers to the victory, along with the goaltending of Charlene S., were the defence of Jessica S., Lilly S., Ashlyn C. and Michelle B.
The girls' next action is on November 18 in Lucknow.
