Atom B Girls Continue on Winning Streak October 24
Knights of Columbus Atom B Girls met head to head with Blyth on Saturday October 24, and showed them what they were made of.
High off of their win on Monday, the Atom B girls were ready to continue in the form that they started the season. Between the pipes again was Dana B, looking good. Defence consisted of Courtney W, Georgina M, Jordenne V and Erika S again like a solid wall at the line. Forwards with their skates and sticks blazing were Courtney B, Brooklyn S, Ally B, Hope D, Nicole M, Krista K and Claire W. The girls were ready to put on a show!
They started out early this game, with Courtney W blazing one past the goalie from the blue line 2 minutes into the first period. Courtney's goal was assisted by Hope D and Claire W. Two minutes later Courtney W passed to Ally B and she netted her first of the game. Less than a minute later it was Courtney W again, from the blue line, assisted by Erika S and Ally B. Seconds later it was Hope D's turn to get in the game, assisted by Ally B. Claire W scored her first of the game assisted by Krista K and Courtney B. Ally B netted her second of the game assisted by Jordenne V and Nicole M, followed by a goal by Courtney B, assisted by Ally B and Hope D. Rounding out the scoring in the first was a goal by Brooklyn S, assisted by Nicole M and Ally B. The first period ended with a 8-2 score, and the girls were not done yet!
The second period the girls slowed down a bit, but still let Blyth know that they meant business. There were some great passes, and great team work, resulting in a goal by Courtney W, rounding out her hat trick, assisted by Claire W and Brooklyn S. A goal for Nicole M, assisted by Hope D and Courtney W, as well as another goal for Claire W, assited by Hope D and Courtney B. The second period ended in a score of 11-2.
The third period the girls didn't show signs of tiring, they continued playing together like a well oiled machine, ending up with more goals, Hope D scored her second of the game, assisted by Courtney B and Claire W, final goal of the game was unassisted by Krista K, leaving the game 13-2 final score.
