The Walkerton Women’s Wightman Atoms wave crashed into the team from Saugeen Shores on 24 October. Outstanding goaltending from Vicky S allowed Wightmans to lead an offensive charge against the strong Saugeen Shores team.
Samantha H crushed the puck for an outstanding 6 goals showing a deft scoring hand for future games. Putting in a big 4 point game was Brina H, including netting one for Wightmans. After finding themselves down a goal in the early going Wightmans’ Sophie B showed the grit she has become known for by tying the game at the 8 minute mark on her way to a 2 goal and one assist performance. From that point Wightmans never looked back.
Also scoring for Wightmans were Emily E and Jenna F, showing that they will be players to keep an eye on. Stephanie Y rounded out the scoring by assisting on a goal.
A great game by all of the players on the Wightmans Local League Women’s team. A big cheer for these young ladies.
