Juvies Lose in First of the Season
The John Ernewein Ltd Juvenile Capitals lost their first game of the season to Lincoln 3-2 in the Championship game at the North American Silver Tournament.

The winning goal came on a Lincoln power play with less than one minute remaining in the second OT period.  It was a fantastic game. Tyler Tilker of Walkerton won the player of the game award with an outstanding performance.  The players can be very proud of their efforts as they had many opportunites but just could not put the puck in the net to secure the win.

In the round robin portion of the tournament the Capitals defeated Harrow 6-1, Glencoe 9-1 and Mooretown 4-0.  That gave them 29 of a possible 30 points and first place for the semi-finals.  In the semi-final game they again defeated Mooretown, this time by a score of 6-1.

This set up a rematch in the B Championship game with Lincoln whom we had tied 1-1 in the round robin portion of the Greg Dietz tournament earlier in the season.  The game was a very hard fought match with few penalties as the referee let the boys play hockey.  Congratulations to Lincoln for their win.  Thanks to the parents and other fans who made trip to Mooretown to watch all the games.  Also, thanks to our sponsor John Ernewein Ltd for their continued support.  The team now prepares for OMHA playdowns, their first opponent is Saugeen Shores.

Playing for the Caps are Tyler Tilker, James Wilton, Al Fry, Adam Dales, Brandon Fisher, Rory O'Hagon, Eric Pereira, Devon Grubb, Mitch Dentinger, Matt Thompson, Steve Thompson, Andy Dentinger, Joe Terwoord, Scott Barclay, Tristan Flachs, Trevor Robinson, Kyle Parks, Jordan Regier, Brandon Coghlin, Brandon Barber, Cody Anderson, and Steve Kelly.  Coaching the team are Brett Schnurr, Paul Zippel, Orrie Alexander, Paul Schnurr and Greg Sawyer.
