Bantam Rep Start Post Season Drive
The Joys Bantam Rep started their post season drive with a convincing 3-0 win.

On Thursday, January 21 the Joy's Bantam Rep team started their post season drive with a convincing 3-0 win over the Kincardine Flyers, effectively turning the tables after being shut out three times in regular season play by the same team.
The boys busted out of the gate in the first period, blitzing the Kincardine defence, and scoring after just fifteen seconds of play. Defenceman Callum Schaus fed the puck to Josh Busby who in turn slipped it across the front to John Ringel for the wristshot over the pad of the sprawling Flyers netminder. With the early lead in hand, the Walkerton team gained momentum while clearly outskating their opponents and retaining control of the game.
With Max Barclay circling around the back of the Kincardine net, the expected wraparound shot was instead passed out front to the blue line where Caleb Diebolt one-timed it to the top corner, doubling the lead and initiating a loud response from the Walkerton bench.
The game carried into the second with fast action at both ends of the ice but no further scoring by either team. The Flyers threatened late in the period when Joys gave them a two man advantage, but a determined Walkerton team held out for the penalty kill and retired the period with the score unchanged.
The third period saw more of the same action with both goaltenders being put to the test and plenty of physical play along the boards. Walkerton netminder Wesley Cameron was exceptional as he kicked out every attempt to end the shutout while  inspiring his teammates
to excel as well. With less than a minute left to play, Ringel scored the third and final goal on the empty net after outskating the Kincardine defencemen to the puck in their end. The well-deserved win puts the boys in a 1-0 lead in the best of five series.
