The Joys boys started their season with a well deserved 5-3 win against Mitchell.

The Joys boys started their season with a well deserved 5-3 win against Mitchell in an exciting home game on Oct.19. John Ringel opened the scoring in the first period with a quick rebound shot surprising the Mitchell goalie and fans alike. The defence showed their great skills as did goalie Wes Cameron in keeping the opposing team scoreless in the first.
The action picked up in the second when Adam Lindblad pushed the boys ahead by scoring off a pass by Lance Rock. Mitchell replied with a return goal only to have Rock pick up a well placed pass by Brendan King and score with an amazing back hand to the top corner. John Ringel scored again unassisted closing the scoring for the second period.
In the third, Mitchell closed the gap by scoring two more goals but a second unassisted goal by Adam Lindblad insured the win for the Walkerton squad. Great coaching from Steve Schaus and Conor Walsh prepared the team for a fabulous start to the season.The Joys Bantam rep return to the ice Mon.Oct.26 at home against the Listowel Cyclones.
