Legion Peewees Tie Mitchell in Season Finale
The Walkerton Legion Peewee boys had a great finish to an otherwise tough season Wednesday, as they skated to a 1-1 draw with Mitchell at home in Walkerton.

Ryan Bester was nearly flawless in net for Walkerton, stonewalling Mitchell on a number of good scoring chances.  Mitchell went ahead in the second, when Bester was the victim of a pile-up of Walkerton players in front of the net, allowing the only Mitchell goal.  Centre Justin Donnelly evened the score early in the 3rd, after getting a 1-step advantage on the last Mitchell defender on a hard drive to the net.  Walkerton's 2 defence lines of Kurt Biesenthal, Brayden Davidson, Jackson Stark and Luke Zettel kept the Mitchell forwards off-balance for the remainder of the game, yielding few scoring chances which were snuffed out by Bester.
Walkerton poured on the pressure late in the third, doing everything but scoring.  The forward line of Tyson MacLennan, Kyle "Digger" Paulitzky and Matt Lang had the best chances, with MacLennan feeding Paulitzky in front for a great chance, and later ripping a slapshot that just missed on the short side.  Coach Pat Donnelly commented that "it was nice to see everyone doing his job out there tonight".  Fans agreed that it was a good way to end off a tough season, and all are looking forward to the playoffs.
