Langs Take Home Consolation Side!
The Walkerton Lang’s Contracting Midget HL girls ended off the season on a high note March 28-29, taking home the consolation trophy in the WOAA year-end tournament.

The first game of the tourney was played on Sat. March 28th against a tough Saugeen Shores team. Despite goals by Kyla Johnston and Lesa Kittel, Langs could not seem to score any more, losing the game 3-2. The next day the girls were determined to win and faced off against Markdale. Markdale managed to slip 2 goals by, but Langs responded back with Johnston, Scarlett Davidson and Christina Kaufman scoring to win the game 3-2. This win advanced Langs to the consolation final, against old time rival Wingham. Langs started off the game with Alison Elphick scoring early in the first, with help from Johnston. Johnston then scored herself in the second, with help from Kelly Scheurman and Elphick. Zera Murphy netted the winning goal near the end of third, assisted by Bridget King and Kaufman, to give Langs the title of consolation champs. Emily Golem played awesome in net to earn the shut-out. Other team members include: Jill Pitt, Leticia Barber, Katie Pegelo, Gab Lehman, Alyson Spitzig, Kristen Ruetz, Cosette Vandenberg and Sabrina Clark. The girls would like to thank their sponsor, Lang’s Contracting and as well their coaches, Mike “Cherry” Kittel, Bill “Energizer Bunny” King and Terry “Puff Daddy” Davidson and Kelly Martin.
