Anstett leads the way !!
BDO Midget LL boys notched their 5th win this week with a dominating 6-0 victory over Hanover#2, in spite of good goaltending by the Hanover goalie. Leading the way was versatile Keith Anstett with a goal and an assist in the key second period. Keith was even seen backchecking and forechecking with great effectiveness. At the intermission Keith was heard promising a hat trick, but he was a marked man in the 3rd (or the gas tank was empty !!) and could not notch those 2 additional markers. The game puck presentation was made to Keith by Coach O'Hagan to honor his stellor effort following the game. Junior Berberich was seen leaving the rink checking his wallet and shaking his head !! Scoring his 4th and 5th goals in 2 games was Steve Kelly who has found a real scoring touch of late. Chris Flett recorded the shutout and has been very stingy of late only allowing 2 goals in his past 4 games !! Curtis Flett played his usual high energy game and was very effective throughout. Next up is Mildmay on Friday night in Walkerton, when the boys will be out to avenge one of the few season losses, which was against Mildmay in December. One key to BDO success has been the avoidance of penalties and suspensions. This just might be the cleanest Midget LL team in the loop with only 3 minors in each of the past two games. At press time BDO is back on top of the north loop of the WOAA, third overall and gaining fast on second place. Way to go boys.
