Game 1 of Round Robin Playoffs
The Legion Peewee boys hosted the first game of their round robin series on Feb 11 when Minto came to town.  The Walkerton lads were pumped because of their 2 week break from game action, and came out strong to dominate the ice.

The first period saw a multitude of spectacular plays and solid chances for Walkerton.  The fans definitely got their moneys worth watching this determined group dig in for a win.  The second period offered more of the same with both sides doing their best to find the net.  Late in the second, Minto found the opportunity and squeaked one in to get on the board.
The third period began as the previous two had, with Walkerton putting on an excellent show.  With Jonah Hudson and Jesse Lamont standing on their heads in goal to protect our net, and the defensive wall in place, things were looking good.  Minto turned up the heat and netted 2 quick goals to deflate our spirits.  Luke Zettel, Cole and Jackson Stark and Mitchell Eckert were stellar in protecting our end and played their positions with diligence.  Connor Charette, Matt Lang, Tyson MacLennan and Brandon Dales refused to give up and kicked it up a notch for their team. Isaac Elliot and Josh Hamilton attacked this game with their usual grit and helped add fuel to the fire.  The team effort finally paid off when Tyler Goetz and Chase Louther fed the puck to Max Barclay who sent it home to bring the score to 3-1.  Shortly thereafter, Minto displayed a text book play and scored number 4.   Some frustration found its way to the surface for Walkerton, but to quote a wise Grandpa, "filling the penalty box never fills the net."  This proved true when Minto scored one more to end the game 5-1.
Better luck next time boys.
Happy Family Day everyone.
