Lang Lights up the Scoreboard
The Legion Peewee rep team took to the ice in Mitchell Saturday January 10 for the first game of their playoff series. The first period saw some great chances and a solid effort from the entire Walkerton squad.
Mitchell led the scoring at the end of the first period 2-0. The second period started the landslide with Mitchell netting 5 unanswered goals. Our boys kept working hard and had many great chances but could not get one by the Mitchell goalie.
The Walkerton team hit the ice in the third with a new resolve and the defensive wall was in place. Luke Zettel, Mitch Eckert and Jackson and Cole Stark held strong while goalies Jesse Lamont and Jonah Hudson were amazing in net. With 3 minutes left in the period Matt Lang forced his way through the crowd and smashed one in to light up the visitors scoreboard. The boys celebrated as if it were the world junior championship game. (As did the fans) The game ended with the Mitchell team walking away with a 9-1. Bravo to the Legion peewee team for their continuous effort.
