Walkerton at Mt. Forest Reeves Cup
Walkerton participated in the 3rd annual Reeves cup Jan 2nd, 3rd and 4th.  These two towns came together to enjoy a weekend of competition and love of the game.  Following the ever popular skills competition, the peewee rep team hit the ice Saturday to test their luck.

The boys were off to a slow start when Mt. Forest netted 4 unanswered goals in the first period.   The Legion boys turned up the heat and early in the second period saw their first goal, scored unassisted by Max Barclay.  Mt. Forest soon retaliated to bring the score to 5-1.  With exceptional back checking by Cole and Jackson Stark and aggressive stick handling Chase Louther soon found the net, assisted by Max.  Walkerton spied another chance and Tyson McLennan bent the twine on a beautiful solo play.  The third period saw amazing defensive work by Luke Zettel and Tyler Goetz and many solid opportunities driven by Connor Charette.  As always our fearless group of diggers made up of Isaac Elliott, Josh Hamilton, Brandon Dales and Matt Lang made all the fans proud. Unfortunately lady luck was not on our side. After nailing the post, having a goal called back and missing the net several times by the width of a frog's hair, Walkerton finally squeaked one in.  The point went to Max, but it was very obvious that the whole team was giving it their last shred of strength.  Goalies Jesse Lamont and Jonah Hudson were solid between the posts, but Walkerton could not muster another goal and in the end surrendered to Mt Forest with a score of 7-4.
Well played boys.
Happy New Year to all!!
