Davidson gets Shutout for Cuneo Atoms
Walkerton Cuneo Atoms continue to work as a team and the progress towards that is showing on the score board.  During an early afternoon game in Durham, quick skating, puck handling and strong defence by Cuneo held Durham to a scoreless game.  Cuneo's goaltender Calder Davidson made many fantastic saves, giving him his first shutout of the year.

Cuneo Atoms started their scoring spree early in the first period.  Throughout the game Cuneo had many successes in passing and situating their man in front of their net.  With a flurry of activity in front of the Durham net a pass from forward Cody Jones to Jordan Dahms, made its way to an open Connor Johnson who knocked in Walkerton's first goal of the game.  Just seconds later, Chris Cormack made a go of it alone to the net, the effort was worth it, he lifted the puck in just behind the Durham netminder, giving Chris an unassisted goal.  The second period found the combination of Jones, Johnson, and Dahms in another scoring opportunity.  This time passes by Jones to Johnson, to a left seated Dahms; gave Cuneo goal three.  Durham turned on their forward offence late in the second period forcing the Cuneo team to work hard for their next four gaols and keep Durham out of their end.  Late in the second period, defenceman MacKenzie McTeer found some spare ice in order to bring up the puck, the Durham defence was waiting for him to shoot, instead of taking the shot on goal, he passed to Chris Cormack who once again scored beautifully.  Again, this combination of Cormack and McTeer proved to be a good match up; early in the third period Cormack took another shot on the Durham net, the Durham goaltender made the save but couldn't save the rebound shot that McTeer took, giving the Cuneo team a six nothing lead.
Durham wasn't ready to call it a game.  Cuneo goaltender was challenged on several occasions, with shots on goal.  In the third period Durham pressed on. Calder Davidson continued to hold steadfast in the net, not letting one puck by him.  But one final rush with passing from Cody to Connor then off to a once again open Jordan Dahms, who once again knocked in the final goal of the game.  Leaving Cuneo Atoms with a seven to zero win.
