The boys from Cornerstone played Kincardine in a home and home series this past weekend and came out with a split decision.

Game One was played in Walkerton  on Saturday.  Kincardine opened the game early with goal that squeaked by goalie Ryan Goetz. After that Ryan put on a clinic for the Kincardine boys, keeping the Cornerstone lads in the game. In the second period  Cornerstone got on the board with Tyler Priestap lifting  one up and over the Kincardine keeper after defenseman Ty Arnold made an end to end rush! Kincardine was not tobe out done with the score tied they came on strong and put a second goal in the net. However just 40 seconds later Mason Stroeder found Jordan Lang to tie the score at 2 . The third was end to end Kincardine got a go ahead half way thru, but , Jacob Weiler tied it up again from a Joel Jones rebound. However Kincardine pressured and came away with a late goal  to put the game away.

Game Two was played at the Davidson centre in Kincardine.  The Cornerstone lads came out flying in the first , Jordan Lang notched the first one  picking up a rebound after a Tyler Priestap rush. A couple minutes later Priestap made another rush, this time going end to end all alone and potting Cornerstones second of the game. Ryan Goetz again put on a clinic for the Kincardine boys stoning them on numerous occasions. Priestap put up Cornerestones 3rd goal mid way thru the second period with Nate Illerbrunn and Ty Arnold assisting. Arnold connected with one of his own later in the 3rd putting the Cornerstone boys up by 4. Kincardine finally got one by Goetz late in the third, but that was it as Cornerstone split the series with this 4-1 victory.

Overall a great weekend for the boys.  Everyone played great, with lots of hustle.  Come on out and see this young team in action!!!
