Cornerstone Racks up a Loss and a Win Over the Weekend
Cornerstone started out their weekend gaming series on a loss and ended it with a big win.

Cornerstone Financial Novices had a busy weekend traveling to Tiverton and Kincardine this weekend.  Resulting in one loss, and a big win.  Tiverton, as always were seated with a very strong team.  Dispite of all the effort made by Cornerstone we could not seem to scratch in one goal during this series.  Tiverton came on strong from the beginning, coming out with both sticks blazing.  Cornerstone made some strong rushes to the Tiverton net but just could not cash in.  In spite of a Tiverton win, goalie, Ryan Goetz made many exciting saves, only letting past two goals, leaving the score at a two to nothing win for Tiverton.
Not willing to fade away quietly this weekend Cornerstone made up for their loss the next day when they met up with Kincardine.  Cornerstone came out strong and could taste the win from the beginning.  From the first period Cornerstone skated hard, met Kincardine in the corners and were making fantastic passes.  Midway through the first period, skating alone to the Kincardine net, Tyler Priestap knocked in the Cornerstone's forst of the game and unassisted for Tyler.  Kincardine continued to try our defences, a fantastic game was played hard and effectively by Ty Arnold and Connor McTeer; keeping Kincardine at bay and driving to the net themselves on several occasions.  The second period found plays by all of the Cornerstone players; however closing the end of the period a well executed pass from Nathaniel Illerbraun to Jordan Lang gave us the second goal of the game.  Cornerstone pressed the Kincardine lines throughout the game and did not let up until the end whistle.  With 39 seconds left in the final period, passes from Connor McTeer to Denver Turnbull then off to Jacob Weiler gave Walkerton the third goal of the game and the win.  It also gave Ryan Goetz his first shutout of the year.
