Game #3 Saturday March 28th
Walkerton vs. Mildmay Loss 3 - 2
Well it was game #3 and a chance to clinch the series and take home the hardware, but somebody didn't tell Mildmay how it was supposed to go. They were in win or go home mode and came out flying. Unfortunately for our McIntee Atom Rep boys they thought the game started at 12:30 instead of 12:00 sharp. While they were in the dressing room picking out a corner for the trophy to sit and practicing there best smiles, those sneaky replacement players hit the ice. While they were out there Mildmay scored three unanswered goals, 2 in the first and one in the second. Even when the replacements had chances they chose to shoot at the goalie or ring it off the post. Once I even saw one tease the crowd by having the puck slide right along the goal line. By the time our boys got their skates laced up and chased them from the building we were in a big hole. With 10:31 to go in the 3rd, while we were on a power play Jake Spitzig scored our first of the day on an assist from Justin Donnelly. Three minutes later Lucas Bester sprang free on a breakaway from a pass from Kyle Vaughan to bring us within one. But that is as close as we would get. The series heads back to Mildmay on Monday night come out and support you're Capitals.
