Fritz Concrete in the WOAA Finals
Last night's 7-0 win in Mitchell wrapped up the semi finals 3-0 and moves the Fritz Concrete Novice Rep Team to the WOAA Finals against BCH (Bayfield-Clinton-Hensall)  A matchup everyone has been waiting for all year.  These two teams, ranked 1 and 2 in the division and have provided great hockey action all year long when they have met.

In last night's game it appeared that it was the battle of the Goaltenders' with no socring until almost half way through the second period.  Goalie Aidan Quish was outstanding and came up with those BIG saves as usual.  Aidan's quick glove hand was no match for the Mitchell players who thought they could top shelf a goal against "Squishy."

Sam Lowry worked hard in front of the net and was finally rewarded with a goal assisted by Carter Buehlow and Hunter Zettler.  A couple minutes later Zettler scored one of his own, again assisted by Buehlow.

To start off the third period Evan Visser scored unassisted and Buehlow netted 2 goals and added another assist.  Dakota Weiler created several scoring opportunities which often ended up in Mitchell penalties as they tried to catch him.  Weiler's patience and perserverence paid off with 2 goals in the third and 2 assists.  Brayden McKenzie assisted on one of Weiler's goals.  Austin Kelly provided great offence in this win, digging the puck out of the corner to his teammates.

Assisting with securing the shutout for Quish was the strong defence of McKenzie, Drew Cobean, Dorian Charette and Curtis Al.

It is likely that the finals will not begin until Saturday March 21st in Walkerton at 11 am, but watch the schedule for details.  This is great hockey to watch, so come on out and cheer for Walkerton.

GO CAPITALS GO!!!
