A Win in Mitchell Gives Fritz Concrete a 2-0 Lead in the Series
A drive to Mitchell on Sunday evening was rewarded with a 4-0 win for the Fritz Concrete Novice Rep Team and a 2-0 lead in a 5 game series. Aidan Quish earned the shutout. Game 3 is in Mitchell Friday night at 6:55 pm.
2 goals by Noah Leslie gave the Visitors a 2-0 lead after the 2nd period, and everyone was hoping that there would not be a repeat of Saturday's game when Mitchell tied up the game with just over 5 minutes to play in the third period. Evan Visser and Carter Buehlow insured that would not happen with goals in the third period.
Assisting on today's goals were Dakota Weiler, Dorian Charette, Hunter Zettler, Drew Cobean, Leslie, Visser and Buehlow. Aidan Quish was outstanding in net for Walkerton and Mitchell's goalie was equally strong at the other end preventing the score from being much higher on several near misses by Walkerton players.
The players worked hard as a team and are looking for one more win to advance to the WOAA Novice Rep Finals against the winner of BCH and Saugeen Shores.
