Watching This Series? Walkerton Wins 7-1!!
The Fritz Concrete Novice Rep team travelled back to Listowel tonight to face the Cyclones who handed them a 1-0 loss on Sunday. Well these boys arrived ready to play and ready to show Listowel that they brought their game with them tonight.
The LOUD Walkerton fans were at the edge of their seats in anticipation of the players being back on their game, and certainly weren't disappointed. Walkerton led 2-0 at the end of the 1st period and were playing with confidence. 2 more goals in the second provided a comfortable lead to report back to the "Moms" who were getting "beautified" for tomorrow night's game (that's Joe's terminology), and 3 goals in the third capped off the final score at 7-1.
It was a great team effort once again tonight with Carter Buehlow netting 2 goals and 1 assist. Noah Leslie's determination was rewarded with 1 goal and 2 assists. Evan Visser scored once and 1 assist, Hunter Zettler had 3 assists and Dakota Weiler picked up 2 helpers. Sam Lowry Young worked hard in front of the net to earn 2 goals, and assists went to Austin Kelly, Curtis Al and Dorian Charette. Brayden McKenzie, with just 41 seconds remaining in the game, skated up the boards on a pass from Charette and shot one past the Listowel goalie.
Walkerton now leads the 5 game series 2-1, with game 4 in Walkerton Wednesday at 6 pm. If necessary Game 5 will be played in Listowel Friday night.
