Langs Win 1, Tie 2, Lose 1
After a busy two weeks of hockey with provincial playdowns and league play, Langs came out with 2 ties, a win and a loss.

Langs started the weekend off in league play Fri. Feb 8 against Normanby. Normanby got off to a quick start scoring first early in the first. They held the lead until early in the second period when Langs Christie Pitt scored two quick goals, assisted by Steph Lemont, Alicia Argue, Becca Engel. Langs scored again 2 min. later with Erin Neil finding the net, with a pass from Bridget King. Rachael Diebold also assisted. Normanby then came back at the end of the second to make the score 3-2. Langs were determined for the win and entered the third period with a goal by Claire Davidson, unassisted. With 5 minutes remaining, Jill Pitt finished things off for Langs assisted by C.Pitt and Engel. Final score was 5-2.
Going into the second game of playdowns with one tie under their belts, Langs faced off against Kincardine at home on Sunday, Feb. 10. Langs came out full force but couldn't get one past Kincardine till the third period. Katie Pegelo found the net assisted by Leanne Dales and Kayla Bester. Langs held on to the lead till Kincardine slipped one by with 5 minutes left in the game. Langs were unable to get another one by and came away with the 1-1 tie.
Langs third provincial game was against Ripley Wed. Feb.13 at home. Ripley scored the first two goals and Langs were down 2-0 late in the second when Neil found the net, assisted by C.Pitt and Emily Holmes. Langs came back to tie it up at the start of the third with Davidson scoring, assisted by Engel. This gave Langs another tie in playdowns.
Langs went into their fourth and final provincial playdown game with 3 ties, hoping for a win to advance. Walkerton travelled to Tiverton Sat. Feb.16 for the game. Tiverton came out strong, scoring in the first but Langs came back to tie it up with 28 sec. to go in the first. Dales tipped in a shot from Carly Smith to tie up the game. Langs had a bit of a slow third period with Tiverton slipping in three more to make the final score 4-1. Emily Golem played fantastic in net throughout all the games. Although not advancing to provincials, Langs overall had a good run, facing up against some tough teams and will now focus on finishing off league play and the WOAA year-end tournament.
