Great Start in Provincial Playdowns!

Walkerton's Knights of Columbus Atom girls showed heart and determination in their first provincial playdown game against Kincardine.
Walkerton was highly motivated for this matchup as Kincardine has remained undefeated all season, and had not allowed points to another team....until this game! Walkerton skated with vigor and quickly scored early in the first period. Leah Kittel banked a shot off a Kincardine defender which ended up in the opponent's net. The assist went to Jasmine Thompson. Kincardine responded soon after with an effective one timer from in front of the net. Charlene Sullivan made many key saves for Walkerton and the entire team played awesome to earn a well deserved 1-1 tie.
Walkerton is involved in a 4-team round robin, with Kincardine, South Huron and Mitchell. The top two teams will represent our region at the OWHA provincial tournament at Mississauga in April. The next playdown game is scheduled for Feb. 18th at 6:30pm in Walkerton versus Kincardine.
