Walkerton Capitals Atom women rep team hosted an exhibition game against Mildmay on December 29 and skated to a 3-3 tie.

The two teams were evenly matched with end to end action in the first period.  Arianne Beglaw opened the scoring for Walkerton with help from Monica Fritz and Michelle Bester.  Mildmay responded late in the first period which ended in a 1-1 tie.
The second period saw more of the same action with lots of fast skating and scoring opportunities but Mildmay scored goal number 2 in the second. Walkerton quickly responded with a goal by Jasmine Thompson assisted by Jenah VanLoon and Fritz.
The third saw excellent defence from Melynda McKenzie, Madison Elliott and Natalie Hawkins as they allowed only a few shots on net minder Charlene Sullivan.  Walkerton went up a goal in the third with exceptional team work as Leah Kittel skated around the defence for a shot on net and VanLoon was in position for the rebound and scored. Excellent play by forwards  Ashley Ernst and Jenna Haight made for an exciting game of hockey.  Mildmay netted a goal late in the third period and the game ended in 3-3 tie.
Walkerton then travelled to Meaford and skated to a 3-1 win. Fritz started a series of perfect passes to open the scoring, she passed up to forward Van Loon who then passed to Jasmine Thompson for the goal. The second period had one goal scored by Emily Cormack as she made a rush on the Meaford goalie and tapped it in. Meaford then responded and slipped one past netminder Charlene Sullivan. Joelle Busby scored the last goal of the game unassisted.
