Walkerton Capitals women rep atom team hosted Owen Sound on Dec 15/07. The Capitals skated strong to victory as they dominated with a 6-0 win.
Walkerton showed their strength as they scored immediately after the opening face off. Leah Kittel netted the first goal with help from Jenna Haight and Joelle Busby. Haight popped the next goal in the net with assists from linemates Busby and Kittel.The Walkerton team still dominating in the second period had goals scored by winger Michelle Bester and Busby. Assists were awarded to Kittel and Haight. The third period saw exceptional defence from Monica Fritz, Madison Elliot, Melynda McKenzie, and Natalie Hawkins.These gals, with help from the forward lines allowed very few shots on goal. Busby scored an unassisted goal in the third, then Jasmine Thompson netted the last goal of the game with an awesome shot. Bester got the assist. Netminder Charlene (Pippy) Sullivan played an outstanding game between the pipes earning the shutout. Solid performance from Emily Cormack, Jenah Van Loon, Arianne Beglaw, and Ashley Ernst contributed to the win.
