Cornerstone Socks Away Another Win
Cornerstone came strong in a mid morning game against Listowel.  They started out strong and maintained that strength right through the whole game.  Cornerstone played as a well oiled team and they scored as a well executing team.  The Cornerstone scoring started off with a fantastic pass from a determined Calvin Wilson to an open Connor Johnson, sending the puck high and into the net.  Listowel pressed hard with their defense, and tried to move the puck forward with determination but the Cornerstone defense held the lines tight.  nearing the end of the first period, Calvin moved the puck up the boards with a classic chip and chase play, found the open defenseman MacKenzie McTeer who shot the puck home once again.  Leaving Cornerstone with the two nothing lead heading into the second period.

Cornerstone played the second period with just as much verve and zest as they played the first period.  Forwards fought hard, applying the pressure to Listowel's team forcing many of their plays to be turned around for Cornerstone's advantage.  Half way through the second period, birthday boy Austin Kelly knocked home the third goal, thanks to some fantastic passes from Connor Johnson and Dorian Charrette.  Less then a minute later, Curtis Al sent his shot with determination at the Listowel net and scored a beautiful  unassisted goal for Cornerstone.  Cornerstone's defence made up of Ty Arnold, Dorian Charette, Curtis Al and MacKenzie McTeer played their lines very tight keeping the majority of this game in the Listowel end.  Allowing many of our forwards such as Sam Byers, many opportunities to shoot on their net.  The game was executed well, and all the Cornerstone players contributed to this win.  With only four minutes left in the third period, MacKenzie McTeer found his way through the many Listowel players and sent the puck sailing by their goalie, for the final goal for Cornerstone, and his second of the game.  Congratulations Cornerstone, our hardwork and determination is paying off.  You ALL did a great job!!!!
