Year Ends on a Great Note!
The Walkerton Capitals Peewee Girls Rep Team participated in the WOAA year end tournament in Wingham and Blyth on March 28th-30th.  The team is sponsored by Godfather's
Pizza and would like to thank them for a great year.  The girls had an amazing season, particpating in five tournaments they played in the final games of all five.  They were champions in the International Silver Stick tournament in Sarnia, also in Brantford to celebrate with Walter Gretzky, and then finished the year with a win at the year end tournament.  They had second place finishes in Woodstock and Mitchell.  Congratulations to the players, coaching staff and parents!!

The first game of the year end tournament saw the girls facing Beaver Valley to end with a 5-1 win.  Katrina
Wyatt had the first goal from Marielle Adams.  Faith Yensen netted two goals with assists going to Adams and
Sarah Biesenthal.  Katrina Young scored with help from Wyatt.  Lindsay Dales had the final goal for the
team from Wyatt.
The girls faced Mount Forest that evening in a very tense game.  The score was 1-1 at the end of regulation
time.  Adams scored our lone goal with the assist going to Emalee Haight.  The overtime play started with
four on four, and then three on three with no results.  In the shoot-out, both Adams and Biesenthal scored for
the Walkerton team.  Alyssa Inglis made some amazing saves to shut down two shooters and end the game with
a 2-1 win.
Markdale was the opponent for the final game of the tournament, and the team played great hockey.
The defensive team of Victoria Carroll, Lauren McLean, Lindsay Dales and Katrina Young slowed
down the opposition throughout the game.  Walkerton goals were scored by Wyatt from Adams, and by
Destiny Berberich from Biesenthal to make the final score 2-0.  Great year girls!
