Game in Ayton by Heather Kelly
On Saturday, October 20th the RKS bantam girls travelled to Ayton to play an exhibition game against Normanby.

The game remained scoreless until    in the first period when Normanby scored their first goal.  The Normanby girls had a strong offensive team and quickly ran the score to      6-0 near the end of the second period.   Walkerton got on the scoresheet late in the second period.  A fine effort by Adrianna Droefke beat the Normanby defense and she scored on a hard wrist shot.  Assists on her goal went to Heather Kelly and Brittany Gamble .  Reshay Sullivan played very well in the Walkerton net.  She faced a lot of shots and came up with some very big saves.   Walkerton went on the power play with minutes left to play in the third.  The power play didn't last long as Walkerton got a penalty only seconds later.  In a surprise move, coach Steve Dales pulled the Walkerton goalie to maintain the advantage.  This move resulted in several Walkerton scoring chances in the dying seconds of the game and Normanby hitting the goalpost on the empty net.  Despite a very exciting last two minutes, neither team was able to put the puck in the net and the score remained Normanby 7 Walkerton 1.   The RKS bantam girls play their next game October 27 at 5:30 in Walkerton against Mildmay.
