Cuneos Atoms dig deep for exciting finish.
This year the Cuneos Local League Atoms have played a number of games where their strong team play meant the result was not in doubt early in the game.  The team has shown it has both heart and strength.  Against Mildmay, Cuneos came up against a hot goalie and solid defensive play testing the team’s heart.

The game started out with solid exciting play by both teams.  For anyone who likes good skilled hockey both Walkerton and Mildmay put on a great show.  A misdirected shot from the point and a bad bounce put Cuneos in tough.

Down 2-0 Jordan D made some stellar saves to keep the Cuneos Atoms close.  Solid defensive play by Brayden D helped keep the team in position to rally back as well.

Ryan Y led the charge back for Cuneos with a great top hand corner shot.  With time running out Kyle P jumped on a rebound and made it clear he owned the front of the net by driving the puck home as time was running out.

Both goalies played outstanding hockey and with the Cuneos Atoms buzzing around the net all game long. This game might not have been a tie if not for the solid performance of Mildmay’s goalie.  Congratulations Cuneos for hanging tough, playing as a team and roaring back to tie.  The Cuneos Local League Atoms have now extended their record to 11-2-2.
