CMR Bantams start playoffs with three wins, one loss
The Bantam CMR team was off to a good start when they met Saugeen Shores #1 in the first game of playoffs on February 16th coming out with a 3-1 win. Jacob Murphy started the scoring for CMR in the second period on an assist from Dillon Hindman. Andy Beadle popped CMR's second one in with three seconds left in the second from Brent Eckenswiller and Murphy. Eric Elliott finished the scoring up in the third, assisted by Colton Louther and Murphy.

Saugeen Shores #1 returned to play on CMR's home ice on February 17 where CMR took the win again, 7-2. CMR's goals in the first period were courtesy of Murphy, assisted by Beadle, and Junior Berberich, assisted by Louther. Two more goals in the second went to Presley Cormack from Murphy and Chase Louther and Elliott from Berberich and Ben Kittel. Saugeen Shores came back with two goals in the third, but not near enough to catch CMR who went ahead by three more in the final period. Elliott scored from Eckenswiller and Berberich and Beadle scored from Hindman and Elliott. Cormack popped the last one in off Elliott within the last minute of the game.
CMR carried on with the wins when they met Aaran-Elderslie the following night, February 18, again on home ice. Echenswiller flipped one in off Cormack followed by a blaster from Colton Louther in the first period. Solid offence by forwards Mitch Currie and Matt McLean looked promising in the second, but the lone goal in the second period went to the opponents. Then in the third, CMR finished things off when Elliott got one between the posts from Beadle and Cormack.
February 24th saw the CMR team head to Shallow Lake for their fourth playoff game and in a close game that ended in overtime, they came home with their first loss. Eckenswiller started the scoring in the first on a pass from Cormack and Shallow Lake went ahead with two goals in the second. Then, in the third, CMR played catch up adding two more pointers. Elliott had the first marker unassisted followed by Berberich's goal from Kittel. Cole Dales was hot in goal making save after save. With the game tied 3-3, they headed into overtime and had some close calls but just couldn't get it in there when Shallow Lake got the winning marker.
Hopefully Eric's injury in the third isn't serious and he's back in action for the next game.
CMR Bantams continue their playoff action when they head to Wiarton on March 2nd. Good luck boys!
