Not only did Matt McLean get his first career goal in CMR's game against Durham on November 12, but he got two goals - a great start to his hockey career. The Bantam CMR team lost to Durham 6 to 3.
All Walkerton's goals were in the third period with Matt McLean's first goal being assisted by Dylan Hindman and Brent Eckensweiller. His second goal was assisted by Presley Cormack. CMR's third goal came from Jacob Murphy on an assist from Presley Cormack. The boys started their game a little slow but as the game progressed, both teams combined for five goals in the third period to make this an exciting finish even though they came up short as time ran out losing 6-3. Cole Dales played an excellent game in goal, especially the hot glove save from the Durham player who had an extremely hard slapshot. Way to go, Cole.
The team is getting geared up for the Bantam Local League tournament scheduled for this Saturday with their first game at 9:00 a.m. Good luck!
