Walkerton-Hanover Vet Clinic Midget Boys Win 1 and Tie 1 in Playoff Action
The Walkerton-Hanover Vet Clinic Midget Boys continued their playoff action with two games this past week. On Monday February 18, Walkerton travelled to Durham for a game that would see Walkerton come away with a 6-1 win. Walkerton started the scoring off in the first with a goal by B.J. Oliver, assisted by Josh Hadwen. The second goal was tipped in by Pat Koller off of Mark Zettler's shot from the point. Durham answered with a goal of their own before the first period ended, which would end their scoring for the game. The second and third periods belonged to Walkerton with them netting two goals in each period. Kurtis Flett scored the first goal on a nice passing play from Oliver and Mike Linblad and the second came from Flett unassisted. Scoring in the third period were Josh Hadwen, assisted by Steve Keip and Oliver and Alex Dales assisted by Allan Rogers and Andy Dentinger.     Walkerton played host to Mildmay on Sunday, February 24th. Walkerton opened the scoring in the first on a goal by Andy Dentinger assisted by Nathan O'Hagan. Two minutes later they added a second goal by Dentinger from Rogers and  Linblad. Mildmay responded with a goal at the 2:44 mark only to have Walkerton net another by Evan Koller from Chad Paulitski with 1:45 remaining in the first period. Mildmay got one more before the end of the first, ending the period with Walkerton leading 3-2. The second period was scoreless and they third period continued the end to end action with Hadwen scoring Walkerton's fourth goal on a pass from Keip. Mildmay fought back with two more goals before the final buzzer, sending the game into overtime. The fourth period  saw both teams with many chances, but neither were able to put the puck in the net. The game ended in a 4-4  tie. The Walkerton-Hanover Vet Clinics next playoff action is against Arran Elderslie in Tara on Feb.27th @ 8:00pm and they are back home on Sunday March 2nd @ 7:30 when they will play host to Durham.
